Ragi Idyappam

Ingredients

  1. Roast and powdered Ragi                                            - 2 cup
  2. Coconut milk                                                                      - 2 cup
  3. Carrot                                                                                   - 1 cup (Chopped)
  4. White channa                                                                    - 1 cup (soaked one full night & cooked)
  5. Potato                                                                                  -  1 cup (Peel and cut)

For Grinding

  1. Onion                                                                                    - 1
  2. Coconut                                                                               - 1 piece ( 3 pinch)
  3. Mint leaves                                                                        - 1 small piece
  4. Ginger                                                                                  - 1 small piece
  5. Garlic                                                                                     - 6 flakes

Method

  1. Cook all vegetable in salted water.
  2. Heat oil in kadai, add seasoning ingredients cooked vegetables and ground masala, fry till the raw flavour goes out.
  3. Mix salt and coconut milk into the flour and make dough.
  4. Squeeze the dough into a idly plate and bake cook at least 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and decorate with vegetable masala.
  6. Squeeze the dough again upper layer in vegetable masala.
  7. Cook again 5 minutes and remove from heat and serve hot.

Note:
Layar formation is important make 1st layar idyappam 2nd vegetable and 3rd layer idyappam.
