Pesarattu

Ingredients

  1. Split green gram dhal                     - 2 cups
  2. Onion                                                    - 2
  3. Green chillies                                     - 2
  4. Ginger garlic paste                           - ½ tsp
  5. Salt                                                         - to taste

For chutney

  1. Coconut                                               - ½
  2. Chilli powder                                      - 1 tsp
  3. Tamarind juice                                  - 1 tsp
  4. Salt                                                         - to taste
  5. Mustard seeds                                  - ½ tsp
  6. Curry leaves                                       - 1 spring

Method

  1. Soak gram and grind well. Set aside for 2 hours.
  2. Add salt, chilly, onion and ginger mix well.
  3. Heat tawa pour the batter and make the roti.
  4. Grind coconut, add tamarind juice and chilli powder mix it well.  Heat the oil add mustard seeds and curry leave.
  5. Mix it with coconut paste.
  6. Serve the pesarattu with the chutney.
