Siruvachur is situated the famous Madurakaliamman Temple, which is a place of pilgrimage to the Hinds.
An ancient Church is here built by Constantine Joseph Beschi, locally known as the famous “Veeramamuniver”.
This place is famous for the Brihadeeswarar Temple and the big Nandi gracing the frontage of the Temple. The temple was built by Rajendra Chola. Famous sculptures are the dancing Ganesha, a lion headed well, the huge dwarapalakas’ and Siva Parvathi crowning Rajendra cholan. Jayakondacholapuram and Thirumanur are the other places historic and tourist importance.
