Chilli Bajji


  1. Bajji milagai (Chilli)                                           - 200 gm
  2. Potato                                                                  - 100 gm
  3. Bengal gram flour                                            - 250 gm
  4. Mustard seeds                                                  - 1 tsp
  5. Baking soda                                                        - a pinch
  6. Turmeric powder                                             - a pinch
  7. Oil                                                                           - for deep frying


  1. Boil and mash potato set a side.
  2. Heat the oil (3 tsp) in kadai, and the mustard seeds, Turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups of water allow to boil.  Then add mashed potatoes mix well.
  3. Till the gravy thick end (Like masala)
  4. Cut the chillies / Bajji milagai in length wise remove the inner parts.
  5. Soak the chillies in hot water at least 5 minutes.
  6. Stuff the potato masala in the milakai.
  7. Make a batter with Bengal gram flour, salt and baking soda.
  8. Dip the stuffed milakai, in batter and fry in oil.
  9. Remove from heat and serve hot.
